VMSP 8.0c: HDV file "m2v" - no import possible

Hi,
I have a m2v File from my previous software. VMSP 8.0c is not able to import it. Now, I am trying to convert this file into m2t, but I found no software that does the trick.
Has anybody any tip? I cannot capture this file again because of tape damage.

Use VLC or MediaCoder to transcode the file to another format.
