VOB Edit

I have a VOB file from a DVD I own and it is about 1 Hour Long.

I can import it into Movie Studio 8 and it plays good but I can not move through it to get to the spot to Edit or Split or anything like this the Frame By Frame keys do not work and if I move it by hand it takes long.

So I thought since I have the whole VOB File in the timeline anyway mayne I could Rander As AVi and then have Movie Studio 8 just re open it since it can read and work with AVi Files.

It says it Randers to 100% but when I re open it it only Randers Half of the VOB File.

Because I did get the VOB File witch is the Main Movie fromn a DVD I own I do not know if you can help?

But I thought I would ask Please tell me if you can help?

I am only taking a Clip from the Movie for my one practice?

Are you saying that this is a commercial DVD -- like a feature film?

Most commercial DVDs have software built into them to make running them through a video editor nearly impossible. Even if it's for your own personal use, it's copy-protected. And technically you don't "own" the movie -- any more than you "own" a song just because you bought it.

Movie Studio does work pretty well with footage from home-burned DVDs, however, as well as non-copy-protected video.

You're VOB file has timestamp issues as a result of the rip from the disc to a vob file on your hard drive. What steps did you follow to get the vob file on your HD?

The Quick Stream Fix tool in VideoRedo can fix that.

We discussed this a while ago....
