VOB file in Vegas

Using a stand alone DVD recorder to "capture" analog tape (why? because I CAN :) ), I've found that the VOB files on the RW can be copied to the hard drive, & from there imported into Vegas. My observation / problem is that it appears that there's a 4GB single file limit. WinXP, NTFS format would seem to sidestep the Windows limit, but I stillhave this limit. Any ideas how to bypass this?

Not exactly sure what you are asking. If you are asking for a way to exceed 4GB on a FAT32 drive, there is no way. You must use NTFS to exceed 4GB in one file.

However, VOB files are limited to 1GB. So this should not be your problem.

What, exactly, is the problem?

merging the original VOB Files isn't a problem (& it avoids awkward edits at the end of one file / start of the next). The problem is that it seems that VV will only display the first 4GB of one of these extra large files. I'm using NTFS, so that ain't the prob, so I was wondering if it was a limit within VV itself.

....."merging the original VOB Files isn't a problem "..... btw, using DVD Decrypter to merge the files: a LEGAL use for the program - that must be a first :)
