VOB File Question

Was trying to help my daughter with a project by extracting selected scenes from a DVD. Had 4 VOB files, first three were 1 gig and the last was about .75 gig. Changed the file extension to MPG and imported into VMS. Files 2, 3, and 4 imported just fine, but file 1 shows up as 10 minutes long instead of 20 or so. There seems to be a gap in the middle of this file that VMS can not handle or see. Yet the file play OK on any DVD player. Any one have a clue as to what would cause something like this?

Try using something like DVD2AVI to create a DV AVI file from the VOBs rather then pulling them into VMS like you are. Renaming them .MPG doesn't make them an MPEG - while there is MPEG2 video in a VOB file, there's lots of other stuff as well, some of which may be bothering VMS.
