Voice over from video?

I'm not exactly sure what the proper name for this effect is, but I want to do a "newscast" style, where I have a head shot of someone talking, then cut to another video, but with the anouncer's voice staying on audio, then back to the announcer's video.

Ideally, I would like to be able to mix the second video's audio in at a low level, just under the anouncer's audio as well, but that is asking an awful lot ;-).

Absolutely not a problem at all. This is VERY easy to do.

Drop the main video/audio into the lower video track. The audio can be in any of the audio tracks. Just leave it in whichever one it falls in.

Drop the "cut to" video into the overlay (upper) track. Trim it to the section you wish to show and slide it horizontally to put it in the correct place. This will replace the main video for it's duration.

If the second clip's audio fell on the same track as the first clip, move it up or down to an empty track. The sound from the second clip will mix with the sound from the first clip. You can adjust the volume as necessary and even fade in/out the ends for a smoother transition. The fades can also apply to the video if you don't want an instantaneous transition.
