Voltaic HD converter vs Raylight vs Neo Scene

Looking for a converter for AVCHD files as I now give up edit native AVCHD with Vegas.
V8.1 don´t recognize AVCHD at all (just audio) and V8c too slow with 3 AVCHD cam edit (Pana HMC 151 and 2 Canon HF100).
I have read about Neo Scene and Raylight but just now found another converter - Voltaic HD - on google.
Its very cheap - 35 dollars !

Have anyone tried Voltaic HD?

Hi Aje

I have not tried it, but went to their site to read, as I am in the same process as you are, as I have never had luck to edit AVCHD natively even on a Quadcore.

They say on the site:

How long does the conversion take? it takes about 12 times as long as the original footage to convert the clip.

I know it is a P4, but 12x time is very much. I think I might try the demo version, but in general I have heard a lot of good of the cineform products and I have tried their trial version.

Hi!
Yes I just tried it on my vista 64 quad core machine and
I clocked a 15 sec mts 1920x1080 to almost 2,5 minutes
Thats 15 times - so nothing for me!
By the way are you scandinavian Ulf?
I såfall kanske vi kan höras vid på skandinaviska.

Det var dejligt (how nice)!
Up till now i´ve used New Blue fx UpShift which convert MTS to m2t and I think I´ll stick to it for the moment.
m2t is easy to edit in 8,0c and I don´t think I lose quality if I convert to 60 mbp/s which I do.
Converting directly from SD cardreader to disk take 1:1 in time.

I don´t coop with 8.1 - its very odd.
When I load MTS its just audio on timeline.
Loading upshifted m2t 25p files plays duoble speed and no audiosync.
Loading upshifted 50 interlaced m2t files plays normal speed
and properties say m2t 25p.
I don´t understand.
Kul med en granne (fun to find a neighbor)

The Voltaic converter looks like it just converts into available formats: wmv on Windows and AIC on Macs.
