VP 15 GUI Redraw Issue

matthias-krutz wrote on 12/7/2017, 4:36 AM

I had to go back to VP14. I wanted to use Colorfast2 in a slide show. Always after a short time, the redraw of the dialogue window became so slow that it was no longer possible to work. I have analyzed this behavior now. It does not matter if I work with GPU support or not. It is also independent of how often I call up a video FX.

However, when I adjust the window sizes, the dialogue surface building becomes noticeably slower each time. Only if I avoid resizing the windows, I can work for a long time without restraint.

I hope for a quick bug fix.

" It does not matter if I work with GPU support or not."

Where did you turn GPU support off? In Vegas Pro or in ColorFast? Or in both apps?

I turned it off in Vegas. It's not a problem of ColorFast2. It works in both, VP14 and VP15. But ColorFast2 has an extensive dialogue window and the issue is better to identify.

I would try turning off GPU accelaration in ColorFast. I had several issues in ColorFast when I let GPU accelaration on there, while the Vegas GPU accelaration had no (bad) influence. It's been the official NewBlueFX support who recommended to me to turn it off in ColorFast instead of in Vegas Pro.

Thank you. Directly with ColorFast I have not seen any problems so far, I'll watch that.
The GUI problem I can easily reproduce on my PC. At an event I put a video FX. If I resize the preview window or timeline window now, any following FX call will take longer.

If you can reproduce it, it may be worth using some screen capture software to record it happening, then send the video to the developers of both apps so they know about the issue.

The issue occurs on my PC (AMD, Win7) when I turned off "Show Transport Bar" in the video preview. With activated transport bar (default) it seems to be running....

I have it reported to Magix [Ticket#2017120817002765].

Now I can work with VP15 again. It's working well (with the dark interface) since I turned on "Show Transport Bar" in the video preview window. I do not need these buttons, but Vegas makes problems without this bar. Maybe other issues with the preview also have their reason here.

UPDATE: I was happy too soon. It's a bit better, but with time everything gets sluggish. Well, at least I can use ColorFast2 in VP14.
I can not imagine that I am the only one who has these problems.

If you constantly 'going out from Vegas and getting in to Vegas application' several times, go to options>Preferences>General: uncheck the 'Close media files when not the active application' and 'Close audio and MIDI posrts when not the active application'.

A bit help to me who a bit constantly going out and going in from / to VP15.
