VP 19 and 17 Crash on Startup- Problem with BorisFx

Nice to meet you.

I am a Japanese who uses VegasPro17.0 to create videos.

Sorry for my poor English.

When I try to launch the project file, it crashes during launch.

Every time I do that, the boot screen gets stuck at the "Creating windows..." stage and I get the message "VegasPro has stopped working".

I uninstalled VegasPro17.0 and installed it again, but the same situation occurred, and I also installed VegasPro19.0, but it stops at the "Creating video plug-in factory..." stage during startup.

Before I couldn't start anything, I was messing around with the window settings for the editing screen.

I don't know if that is the cause, but if anyone knows a solution, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

英語が下手くそで申し訳ありません。

 

プロジェクトファイルを立ち上げようとすると、起動する途中で強制終了してしまいます。

その際、起動画面は毎回「ウィンドウの作成中…」の段階で停止し、「VegasProが動作を停止しました」というメッセージが出ます。

 

VegasPro17.0をアンインストールし、再度インストールしても同じ状況で、VegasPro19.0もインストールしたのですが、こちらは起動中に「ビデオプラグインファクトリを作成しています…」の段階で停止します。

 

一切起動できなくなる前は、編集画面のウィンドウ設定をいじっていました。

それが原因かは分かりませんが、もし解決法をご存知の方がいらっしゃいましたら、何卒ご教示いただけると幸いです。

一応リセットをしてみましたか?

コントロールとシフトのキーを押しながら、VEGASを起動して、チェックボックスがでるとクリックをすることです。

まだだめだったら、どれのプラグインがインストールされてるか教えられますか?

When I reset as instructed, it still says "Creating a video plug-in factory..." and both VegasPro 17.0 and 19.0 are forcibly terminated.

Regarding plug-ins, I am using them as they are at the time of purchase, and I have not installed anything other than fonts.

However, before this trouble occurred, I learned about the existence of "BorisFX" and installed "pI_additional_emitter_libraries.exe", "Particle_Illusion_2022.5_Standalone_15_5_2_Windows.exe", and "Continuum_2022.5_OFX_Hosts_15_5_2_Windows.exe" separately from VegasPro.

I didn't know how to use it, so I uninstalled it immediately, and then I found out that BorisFX is also available on Vegas.

At that time, when I was messing with the layout of the editing window, Vegas suddenly crashed and I couldn't start it again.

I'm sorry for being an amateur... I'm sure there must be a cause somewhere, but I'm in trouble because I don't know at all. . . I would appreciate it if you could let me know if there is anything I can try to solve it.

教えていただいたリセットを行ったところ、やはり「ビデオプラグインファクトリを作成しています…」で、VegasPro17.0と19.0、共に強制終了となってしまいます。

プラグインに関しては購入時のまま使用しており、フォント以外は特に追加でインストールしていません。

しかし、今回のトラブルが起きる前に「BorisFX」の存在を知り、VegasProとは別に「pI_additional_emitter_libraries.exe」、「Particle_Illusion_2022.5_Standalone_15_5_2_Windows.exe」、「Continuum_2022.5_OFX_Hosts_15_5_2_Windows.exe」をインストールしました。

いまいち使い方が分からずすぐにアンインストールし、その後Vegas上にもBorisFXが用意されてることを知りました。

その際、編集ウインドウの配置などをいじっていたら、突然Vegasが強制終了し、再び起動することが出来なくなってしまいました。

 

素人で申し訳ありません…きっとどこかに原因があるのでしょうが、私にはさっぱり分からず困っております。。。もし解決するために試せることがあれば教えていただけると幸いです。

I understand that even after a reset it's still failing at creating the plugins.

Boris Fx are optional plugins so I'd suggest uninstalling them completely. It's not part of Vegas (though it can be sold with Vegas as a bundle). Once you can get Vegas to work again, you can reinstall it.

Continuum 2022.5 should work in Vegas Pro 19 though possibly not 17 (not sure).
I've read Boris can have problems if you install plugins that are from different software generations (some older and some newer). Try to only use ones that came out at the same time.

Maybe someone who uses Boris plugins can help you further.

Also, I suggest changing the title of this thread to be in English so others read it.

BCC 2022.5 appears in the FX window in Vegas Pro 17. Testing one BCC FX and one BCC+ FX in VP17, they both worked as expected. But I don't use VP17 anymore so I can't attest to all FX.

This from BorisFX's Knowledgebase:

Only one version of Boris FX Continuum plugins can be installed for VEGAS Pro at any one time. So, if you have an older version of VEGAS with legacy Continuum plugins, these will be replaced with the newer versions that ship with VEGAS Pro 19. We highly recommend uninstalling any existing Boris FX plugins previously installed on your system to avoid problems. To do this, right-click the Start button and click Control Panel. Go to Programs and Features (if your Control Panel is in Category view, go to Uninstall a Program). Find Boris FX Continuum, click to select it, and then click Uninstall.

@kota-n Hi, I have the full Boris suite & just to say I've read this post but sorry i can't help, I have absolutely no problems with Boris plugins & unfortunately you won't get any help from Boris themselves, this sounds like a Vegas issue + Vegas isn't high on their list of 'liked' hosts,

I would do as @RogerS suggested, uninstall everything, there's a temp files folder - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0 (or your version), delete everything in that folder, they're just temp files & will get rebuilt when Vegas is launched next time, & maybe even go into Windows Settings - System - Storage - Temporary files, tick all boxes & delete, Windows keeps some temp files that can get in the way,

I check you virus protection, add Boris & Vegas to the exceptions or allowed list etc..

It stopped starting when I was operating the BBC, so maybe the point you pointed out is the cause.
