VP 20 Edit | Track Templates?

Good Morning,

Does VP have a feature where you can save a set number of tracks in a specific layout as a template then if you make a new project you can import that template without having to manually add in all of the tracks yourself.

No. But you could create template files the way you want to start certain projects, load the template, and then do a "Save As" for the real project name.

Or you could write a script that creates the tracks/events you want already in the project.

@devon-kelley Hi, no there's no templates options, best you can do is create a project with the track layout as you wish, it doesn't have to have any content, then Save As - 'name', Then next time, copy & paste that saved project so you've still got the orig safe, rename the copy & open,

@jetdv You must have been writing at the same time as i was, I like the idea of a script, that would be easier just to click on a script but I haven't a clue where to start writing one of those.

The first episode actually talks about a script I use every week which does a combination of the two things above. I have a template file I've created with the intro and a lower third every 4 minutes through an hour long program plus ending credits. The script I use loads that template, loads the current church service file (picked from a file selection box) after the intro and under the lower thirds, and then saves the project using the current date/time as part of the file name so the template is never changed. Then I can start editing with everything already in place - either manually or using the "assisted edit" mode built into the script.
