VP16 B424: Prerender Files Immediately Get Removed?

Grazie wrote on 7/20/2019, 3:24 AM

Not seen this before:

1 - Create 15sec Selection.

2 - Tools > Prerender:

3 - Prerender takes 5 seconds

4 - I can observe that momentarily the Prerender Files are created in My Prerender Folder then immediately removed. (LOL!)

Most obscure . . . .

Please confirm/deny

Oh yes, Render to New Track works.

TIA - G

And here's the Video of the Vanishing Prerenders - seeing IS believing:

Confirmed here at laptop, and it looks that after the completed prerender another proces of deleting again that file starts and very quickly ends with the completed vanish.

Who knows which 4 tasks has to be done with the render of such a short file?
First 2 tasks (1 and 2) and when completed the second 2 tasks (3 and 4).

Confirmed:

1) I tried to prerender using MainConcept MPEG-2 format and the prererendered files poppod up and stayed in the Vegas Temp folder until I closed Vegas.

2) Then I prerendered using the MAGIX HEVC/AAC Mp4 format and each of the prerendered file popped up - AND disappeared immediately - as in your example.

EDIT: Tried to prerender with other Formats - and there the prerendered files did not disappear.

Thanks Guys! 🤪

So, four different Setups and four different Installs all produced convergence of Error. 🐜

Anything in INTERNAL PREFS that’s needing to be adjusted?

I’ve never ever seen this happen before.

@ritsmer - What Template? I’ll give it a go. And yet, why would a different Template allow PreRendering? I’d have thought that VegasPro would be Template-Agnostic to this PreRender process? Still a Bug then?

I tried also to prerender 15 sec from a 4K HEVC project to MC Mpeg 2 HDV. It made two files numbered oooo and ooo1 with stayed. Strange should there be a limit for the file lenght?
Here the MediaInfo of the two prerendered files

@j-v - Dunno about file length, but I've done some regressive testing and it would appear my OWN version is being ignored or not been activated in PreRender.

Step 1:

Filtered: Select Templates to Match Project:

Step 2:

Select my OWN:

Resulting in no Prerender.

So far I've selected FOUR of the Filter "Match Project Settings" and they work nicely.

What gives with my own Template?

Has anybody else tried one of their own Templates? Do we have Convergence?

Grazie, just exclude the audio part in your favorite prerender Magix AVC template and save it as a prerender template and use that template for fast prerendering. That's all.

D7K wrote on 7/20/2019, 2:42 PM

Just did a XAVC/XAVC S render and files stayed until I closed Vegas. did a Hvec and it disappeared as soon as it was written. Bug.

Reported to the devs.

In Vegas help it says there is a 400 frame limit on pre-renders.

Marco. wrote on 7/21/2019, 9:17 AM

I think this is for each single chunk of a prerendered section while the number of chunks is not limited.

Grazie wrote on 7/21/2019, 3:03 PM

@D7K - Hi! What page in the Help does it say that? Before now I’ve Pre-rendered greater lengths than that.

3POINT wrote on 7/21/2019, 3:16 PM

Did you try my suggestion?

Grazie wrote on 7/21/2019, 3:20 PM

@3POINT - No, but I’ll keep it in mind. I’m more interested to know just why it should make a difference?

D7K wrote on 7/21/2019, 4:14 PM

I just type in selective prerender in the search box in the Help, here's what I got:

Each prerendered section will consist of no more than 300 frames (approximately 40 megabytes). Because selective prerendering creates multiple files, minor editing on the timeline will not invalidate all of your prerendered video—only the sections you modify will need to be rerendered.

Marco. wrote on 7/21/2019, 4:39 PM

Like said above, the number of prerendered sections is not limited and it is completely automated. So if you're going to prerender 20000 frames – no problem.

Tried the suggestion of @3POINT not to include audio in pre-render template (magix avc) & it works. I experienced also this disappearing pre-rendered file but didn't bother to post it but it is already answered here.

I don't care about why, I just care about solutions. Because I want to edit and not spilling my time with investigating the bugs of Vegas.

ram17 wrote on 7/22/2019, 1:09 AM

And as an addition, pre-rendered files DO NOT INCLUDE audio. Check it in your temp files & play your pre-rendered videos, you'll see. So its useless to include your audio in your template. For me, I've made my own templates dedicated for pre-render only (no audio) & it's the solution for me not to broke my pre-rendered videos.

Thanks for the tip about audio @3POINT

@3POINT - You’ll get no argument from me! It’s always a question of balance.

@3POINT - Sounds good to me too. However, if that car developes an issue I take it to the Garage. This Forum is my Garage. And yes, VP should be good to go from day One and NOT keep it sleeping on my PC.
