VP16 Scrubber tool - which window?

Qoncussion wrote on 10/10/2018, 3:19 PM

I see that VP16 has added the ability to scrub over a clip in the project media bin to view its contents. Which window is supposed to show the content as you scrub your mouse over the clip? I have tried the "Video Preview" and "Trimmer" windows - neither of which show any content. What am I missing here?

Thanks.

You don't see it there, you see it on the thumbnail you are scrubbing

Ok - thanks. I am used to the scrubber in Resolve, which appears in the trimmer window. I can live with this :)

Yes, the Resolve setup works like a traditional "source monitor" whereas Vegas has always had the trimmer instead.

Personally, I think hover-scrub of the thumbnail is too inaccurate for setting in/out points and would prefer to see it integrated with the trimmer. I often trim clips to 3 or 4 seconds rather than to some particular event in the video. It is necessary to see some kind of time divisions (preferably seconds) to do this.

Couldn't agree more. I'll mostly use a scrubber like this to find "that moment" in a clip, then just drop it in the timeline and trim it there.
