VP17 and Hitfilm and Boris

I just upgraded to VP17. I uninstalled VP15 (skipped VP16) and deactivated and uninstalled some plugins (Hitfilm Movie Essentials(FXHOME) and Boris Continuum) to get a clean install.

I installed and activated VP17 and the BCC plugin that came with my VP17 download. I started VP17 and opened a project from VP15. I got errors for missing plugins: FXHOME.HitFilm.ShadowsHighlights and colorTemperature.

I went back to VP15 and installed and activated Hitfilm. It installed without any errors and shows up in the installed programs list for Win10. I still get the same error from VP17 - it can't find or load the Hitfilm plugin.

I also noticed I only had 1 BCC Video FX loaded (3D light flare?) so I tried to install the VP15 BCC package. Again it installed and activated without error but once installed VP17 crashes on startup. I uninstalled BCC and VP17 now starts but all BCC FX is gone including the light flare. I'm sure I can reinstall Light Flare but...

Am I missing something here? What kind of upgrade is this if I lose all my FX plugins and/or it crashes on startup? How can I get Hitfilm and BCC plugins to load so I can revisit projects from VP15?

As mentioned is other posts ( including one of mine ), Older versions of BCC  are not detected by V17 even though they works perfect in V16..I guess it is one of the bugs to be checked out else there will be lots of people who paid good money for Plug-ins that are now all redundant..

Some plugins have to be updated to work properly with 17, and that's up to the people who make the plugins to do it.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Seems like Magix should have taken care of this before release, either by making VP compatible with existing plugins or by getting the updates made. I got my plugins from Magix!

What are the options now? I need this to work, and yes I can go back to VP15 but what's the point of an update that doesn't work!

I've been in software for 40+ years, this seems like a bad call!

I asked at FXHome and it seems like it is a VP 17 problem as this is the response I got:

"Hello,
Thank you for contacting FXhome. That compatibility requires an update to VEGAS Pro 17, and I believe Magix plans to include it in the next update to that software.
