I also see since that update weird things with my explorer, all completely empty and a grey window. When I delete that window by the x , switch to another window and than restore the explorer window through the menu "View" all is fine again (till the next time it is gone) Don't know what triggers this, otherwise I had made a post about it. So try to delete the window, switch to another and renew the deleted window maybe helps you also.
What could be the cause? The color indicates that the storyboard is not synchronized with the timeline. It is set to manual and not automatic. Or is it a function-pruned window. These are certainly from the MovieStudio Window layouts adopted by VP17. These are not suitable as a template for configuring your own Windows layouts.

@matthias-krutz - I don’t understand your advice? I hadn’t chosen anything. Layouts, or whatever. What you’re observing, believe it or not, is simply a complete mess created by some GUI mix-up as a result of my deleting an otherwise working OFX. I hope my explanations make sense to you? Having done a Restore of my System to a Restore point which had my Project Media Pane displayed as it should, this brought-back my Project Media Pane into the newly released Build321.
On the screenshot I can see a project media window like the layout of "Add an Arrange Media" for the beginner work with simplified UI. That does not have the full functionality. If you choose the default window layout, this window should reappear.

@matthias-krutz - You can see this on MY Screenshot? Where? I can see this on YOUR screenshot, but not mine.

@matthias-krutz - Yes, I can of course see it in YOURS. I had tried several Layouts and none revealed my Project Media Pane. I couldn’t access any Controls to change the Pane. To get them back I had to Restore from a viable System Restore Point to get back my Project Media Pane.
@matthias-krutz - Thank for your feedback and willingness to assist me.
Based by the missing icons. VEGAS Pro use this confusing GUI mix since VP17.
Quoted from the help:
"New, task specific, default layouts / Dashboard:Easy editing modes for beginners work with a simplified version of the user interface that show only the most important controls for a step-by-step walk-through from adding media to the final movie, everything put together in the Dashboard window."
The new dashboard uses these beginner layouts. That can be very irritating.
Yes, and a preview window, where no right-click works. That's why I do not use the dashboard. I create my own window layouts from the default layout. If a beginner mode window is closed, it will also open again as a simplified window. Only if it comes from the power user mode, it has the full function.
