VP18 and So4 Compound Reader

fifonik wrote on 8/12/2020, 3:56 PM

Tried VP18 yesterday to check out if some VP17 issues I reported were fixed and could not find internal option "Enable So4 Compound Reader for AVC/M2TS".

Well, I've found internal options, but the so4 mentioned for HEVC only.

So my question is: do VP18 still uses the so4 reader for AVC or not?

If 'yes', how one can turn it off?

Thanks.

They've moved it to file i/o in order to keep people out of internal preferences, which contain things that can break VEGAS if messed with. It's now "enable legacy avc/hevc decoding", which should always be off unless there's a problem that requires them.

The program sets all automatically.
With me those FHD AVC/M2TS use the compound plug and my 4K AVC and 4K HEVC use the so4compound that went all well.
Only thing a find a litle strange is that the properties say AVC for the used plug , but is is HEVC, look

.

Thanks.

I'm confirming that ticking the 'Legacy decoder' on I/O tab turning OFF so4 usage for my AVC mp4 files.
