VP18 Screen Capture - Nothing works so far

Hello,

I have just purchased Vegas Pro 18.
The problem is, when I was trying to record my screen, even though the monitor came up as an option and was selected, nothing was recorded, just darkness.
Furthermore since Vegas was not recording, I have recorded mp4 with VLC. It worked without any issue, but when I have tried to import the file, Vegas simply froze. It was not a particularly long recording, but I have tried it with another capture, which was 5 seconds. It technically opened, but showed as dark in editing too, even though with any other program it plays perfectly fine.
Furthermore, even when I was just trying to record audio, it was rather low volume, even though recording with another free software under the same circumstances - with the same, fair quality microphone - was perfectly fine.

Why does no function work in Vegas Pro so far? Am I supposed to install some other stuff or change settings for things to start working? Thank you!

@Norbert--9915 I have just purchased Vegas Pro 18.

Wow? Did you purchase it from MAGIX? I didn’t realise it was still available.

Yes, it was offered as part of a humble bundle recently.

Maybe try using OBS to do your screen capture? Just make sure to set it to MP4, not MKV.

There's a few issues with screen capture on some driver and GPU combinations... a driver update might help (use studio drivers if you use Nvidia, Enterprise Pro drivers if you use AMD. If Intel, they don't make special drivers for creative software, so whatever their latest driver for your hardware is, that should work)... but if not, just use OBS to do your capture.

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:
