This seems to happen quite often. I am color grading. Then after a while I will return to a clip and it will appear that all the Video FX are turned off - but actually are not. You can see them turn off when I hit each effect check box 2x (first turn it on even though it is already behaving as though it is on, then the second time when I turn it off it truly turns off). Then if I close down the FX window and open it again, all the effects appear as they are off again.

If I copy a clip and try to paste attributes to another clip, the effects still appear to be stuck off. If I save the Plug-In chain, then apply it to another clip - the same result. Its looks as though all effects are off.

Is there any way to prevent this? It makes it very difficult to color grade and turn on only the effects I intend on a specific clip. Sometimes I have effects off for a reason - like in this video clip - the bezier mask is actually off and I do not want it on. But when I open the video FX window, they all look to be in the same state.

Note the TWIST! - The "Color Corrector (Secondary)" FX at the end of that chain shows as on and stays as on as I just freshly added it to the clip as I was going back to do final tweaks. This makes it even more frustrating to keep everything going as now I see mixed signals when opening the window.

Any way to prevent this from happening?
