VP23 Issue with combination Video Event FX

jkay wrote on 11/5/2025, 12:02 PM

When applying a Video Event FX on a video, the combination of Deform and Lens Correction filters seem to affect the rendered video. The quality of the video becomes blurry and the video clip buffers when trying to view.
The video is rendered as a MP4 and viewed in VLC Player.

This issue doesn't occur when applied using VP22. I need to use the combination of VP22 and VP23 to achieve my desired edit.
To note, I've been using this combination all throughout VP22 and never had a single issue with the rendered video.

How about showing the settings you are using for the FX along with your Render settings?

Thanks for replying. Here are the details:

For the video clips, I'm trying to remove birdseye view using Lens Correction and Deforming it back to perspective (From GoPro Footage).

Lens Correction: GoPro Hero 4-7 Wide preset (With minor adjustments)
Deform: Amount = 1.000, All Squeeze settings will have minor adjustments

Render Settings:
- Frame Size: 1920x1440
- Profile: High
- Frame Rate: 59.940
- Field Order: None (Progressive Scan)
- Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0000
- VBR: Max/Avg: 50,000,000
- Encode Mode: NV Encoder
- Preset: Low Latency - High Quality
- RC Mode: VBR - High Quality
- File Type: .MP4

You do know you can add a screenshot to your posts/replies. The blue circle with the Up Arrow is how you upload them. So take a screenshot of your exact settings of Deform, and the same thing for your render settings.

Here is a screenshot of my Deform settings and the Preview, along with the Render settings.

My video is 4K 25P, but still rendered it to 59.94 fps with AMD VCE. The video rendered perfect.

Question, in Project Properties>Full-Resolution rendering quality, is yours set to BEST?

Thank you, I didn't know there was an option for screenshots. I've attached it below.
Using the exact same settings in V22, it works fine.

After rendering as you progress throughout the video, the quality starts to get worse. When you skip to another section, the video buffers for 5 seconds before it starts playing again.

Could up upload the raw GoPro video to the cloud to be tested? Also, the rendered video?

I'm not seeing that with the footage I have.

Also, how about adding your computer specs to your Signature in your User Profile like mine below.

@jkay Project settings are 1920x1440 that's 4:3 aspect ratio, your preview looks 16:9. What are you trying to correct? As @Reyfox requested, provide us with a sample of the original recording.
