VP8 ProType: how to get curve preset working?

I can't get curve presets in to the workspace window. Can't drop/drag, can't double click. The online help just says "To apply a preset, click the menu, and then drag a preset to the timeline." Doesn't work & curves don't appear on the TL anyway.

Ends up the only thing you can put in the TL is the "collections". Gradients must be dropped/dragged to the "gradiant" section of the "effects" tab & "effects" must be drop/dragged to the "effects" section in the "effects" tab. But nowhere to put curve presets.

Any help?

Go to text block properties/layout/path then click the little swirly thing on the left of position on path. A track pops in then you can drag to that.

oh. i thought "curves" would be a "curves" preset not a position on path preset. That's... different.
