Not sure if anyone else has seen this...
Moderate complexity Vegas Pro 8 project. 4 minutes long, 9 tracks, still images, PSD (CS2) file titles, sound FX, wav music. Nothing really heavy.
On both the music track and sound FX tracks, I have a volume envelope on each, worked fine. No problem.
One time, when I opened the project file, I saw no volume envelopes where they should be. They were not visible. When I clicked the actions on the menus to remove the volume envelopes, they then appeared, one on each track. Yes, when I deselected the option to have them there, they then appeared. Cycled the project open and closed a few times, the issue went away.
I think I heard on some nested projects sound like my audio track effects in the nested ptojects and volume controls were simply not sounding like they were working as they should. It sounded like the raw sound file, no effects. It quickly went away, so I cannot quantify it that well.
Using Red 4 as a VP8 plug-in. Inserted some Red 4 generated media, static titles. All worked fine.
Later, when I opened the VP8 project, the Red events were not showing up in the preview window. The events were there on the timeline, but the static titles were not showing up in the preview window. They acted like empty events. When, in Vegas, I clicked to edit the event in Red 4, all was intact as viewed from the Red interface. Exit out of the Red interface, the titles were still not showing up in the preview window nor on the thumbnail image on the time line. They were working just fine earlier. I ended up exporting the media from Red 4, then used them in VP8 as simple media events. No problem.
This is the first real time I have seen intermittent issues with any version of Vegas. Usually, it's an all or nothing deal. No so VP8.
I wonder if this is in any way related to an, again, intermittent issue I was having with Sound Forge 9 and the Noise Reduction plug-in. When in the NR2 interface, I clicked the option to hear exactly what sound was being removed, and it simply did not play any audible sound, as if nothing was being removed. Later, this issue went away and all worked as it should; same sound files. I posted on this here previously,
All of my other software is working fine, and so is usually these apps. I am just seeing an occasional issue pop-up, then go away.
I was able to complete the project in question OK. It's just these intermittent issues popping up were definite causes for concern.
I have a good computer, 4 GB ram, tons of drive space; good setup. All the latest updates. No "monumental thing" happened so as to cause this, ie, "I installed whatever, then this started happening." Not the case here.
Just wondering if I am the only one with this.
