VP9b -Nested Project looses Audio?

Grazie wrote on 8/28/2009, 4:31 AM
Not sure if this is a big or small issue to raise here?

I have 6 Veggies nested in Main Veg; edited one of the veggies via RightClick "Edit in Vegas"; saved changes; returned to main 6 veg project where all the audio has gone for this nested Veg - flat-lined. It is STILL there in the underlying Veg.

As I say, not sure if this is worth reporting or mentioning here?

My remedial work-around is to close and open Main Veg and save the underlying veg several times too. Hope this helps others who may "bump" into this road-rut.

Grazie

I do not have this problem (French version, Vista 32-bit)

Thanks for that Fred.

I have been "bashing" VP9b using nested veggies. I am definitely getting sfxxxxx file render slow/tardiness. Getting "Media offline" and a new one for me a menu asking if I should go searching for the media?

But a good switch back and forth between the veggies and I am "regular" again. I must use veggies to keep . . . ok . .

Grazie -- I'm not seeing this problem in 9.0b -- but I did see it at least once in 9.0a. Problem is I couldn't then and can't now reproduce it. I'm running Vista 64.

Small related issue is when using "Edit in Vegas" to edit a nested veg from timeline, which version of Vegas opens? -- I was getting the 64 bit version opening but others have reported getting the 32 bit version. Now -- in 9.0b, I'm getting the 32 bit version when I do "Edit in Vegas" no matter which version I'm running. No big deal but just curious which version you are getting? -- Paul

LOl! It would be quite interesting that, as I don't have 64-Anything!

And yes I did read that post too.

Thanks

. . . anyway, ploughing on here.

Finished a 6-part nest and sending to LAGARITH as we speak. Blisteringly fast that CODEC with the NEsts!! Looks like twice the speed of the uncompressed . . .

I like using nested veg files to break projects down to segments and then combine. But I wasn't happy with the rendering times or quality from there. Hence lately I've rendered the audio tracks to one track and then copied the video to a combined veg and I'm doing better that way.

Lagarith? -- If I install this codec will it show up in Vegas render "save as" types?

Thanks. I'll try Lagarith. I see they have a 64 bit too.

In the last hour I have had a direct response from SONY, they are aware of the issue and have asked me to post this workaround and use it till the "fix" comes out:

"In the main (parent) instance of Vegas, create a time selection and start a render, but uncheck “Render loop region only”. You can cancel the render. Now when you edit the nested projects, the audio proxy will render fully."

What a Team we have batting for us!

Update . . .

Nested Veg allowed existing 7 nests but just adding a further/additional nest the Audio wouldn't come over. I did the LOOP option; that didn't work. I had to separately RENAME and save this 8th nest under a new name - that worked.

Hope this helps somebody else . .
