VP9e to 11 whoa on color correct FX

Hi,
This may end up being just a wine so I apologize in advance.

Finally got my i72500k/win11 up, system 2, only have VP11/683 and
MSAntiVirus installed.

VP11 is working great. HDV stuff wasn't a problem on system1 but AVHCD
stopped it pretty cold. To test out vp11 I've been using a shared drive to finish
an HDV multicam edit on system 2. In general pretty pleased but I haven't
finished and built Dvds yet so there is still opportunity for more disappointment.

Biggest complaint is the change in the way the color correction (and probably
all FX, haven't looked) and keyframes are handled. Looks like everything is
now "animated". I guess that's kind of kewl but right now it's driving me nuts.
Looks like a lot of extra steps are needed at every point. Even if you're just having
to cc one camera (out of 3) between a couple blackouts its very annoying
compared to vp9e.

Also the dialogs seem much larger while presenting very little additional
information that I can use. Maybe its my monitors (not calibrated) or eyes.
vp9 had those little colored diamonds that took very little space, vp11 seems like
a battleship in comparison. Custom looks like the old interface but I'm not seeing
a nice quick way to keyframe the changes I want to apply.

Is anyone using the ability to keyframe the different levels (l,m,h) separately?
The magnitudes and angles for each l,m,h separately?
The saturation, gamma, gain, offset separately keyed?

thanks
jim

I too hate the way the new color FX look too. In Vegas 11 I have to select "custom" to get the color wheels to align horizonally rather than vertically. If I apply the color correction (secondary) FX to an entire clip, and then cut that clip into smaller portions, when I bring-up the CC (secondarfy) FX in one of the newly cut clips it forgets my display settings and I have to check the triangle or the "custom" tab again to get to the color wheel.

Very annoying. I'm not liking doing color work in V11. I may still start projects in V9 and then skip ahead to V11 when I am ready to add 3rd party FX.
