I am just getting started with VPPA and my application is a very simple one. I have a collection of media files (AVIs) that I want to load into Vegas one at a time, and "Render As" uncompressed output AVIs.
I understand VPPA can be invoked outside of Vegas (which in turn launches Vegas) or it can be invoked within Vegas (View=>Extensions).
Assuming VPPA is invoked from with Vegas: I defined a project file with a blank piece of media whose duration matches that of the longest piece of media in my collection. I specify the media to replace the project "slug" (blank video event) in the VPPA Source Media tab, no changes to the Processing tab, and in the Target Output I specify the Vegas Render template info.
1) Why when I press the "Process" button does VPPA prompts for New Project property information? Why are the properties of the current project (containing the blank media/slog) not used?
2) The Source Media file names are of the form "name.264.avi". When VPPA is run the resulting output files become "name.avi" (the .264 part of the source media filename is ignored). Does VPPA not like seeing a ".XXX" as part of the file name.
Thanks!
