I'm using 6.0c and have noticed something odd. I'm trying out a couple vst plugins and was still seeing gain change with no plugins selected in the chain. To clarify, I have a plugin that's on the track, but is unchecked. The plugin is still doing something. The plugin controls don't seem to make a difference when it's unchecked. Somehow I'm getting about 3 db of gain. It goes away if I remove the plugin from the chain.

The plugin is the Voxengo crunchessor (you can try out a version for yourself and confirm my findings). According to Voxengo, Vegas has some issue with VST and a couple of their plugins. http://www.voxengo.com/product/crunchessor/
