VST Plugins and Midi in VMS 10

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!

I just got my new software (Vegas Movie Studio HD-10 Platinum (Production Suite) installed, few days ago after working with the trial version for a week or so.

VSM found my VST plugins no problem and they load up in the FX chain ok too. But, most of what I really need and want to use require triggering with midi.

I use a Yamaha DGX 220 Piano keyboard and an Axiom 25 midi controller.

Although I have installed Sound Forge, I prefer to use PreSonus Studio One Pro ( a Professional DAW) for recording my music. I use a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile firewire sound card for input and output.

I guess my question is.....Is there some way to set VSM up to recognize my midi input in recording mode?

I am using Windows 7 64bit, on an AMD Phenom 9650 Quad Core 2.3Ghz with 8 Gigs of Ram.

Thanks In Advance For Any Assistance you all can provide!

I'm afraid not. Vegas does not support MIDI...it records audio very well but not MIDI.

You might download the trial version of Acid Pro and see how the software midi interface works with your plugins.

Thanks for the reply....I kind of figured I was out of luck...Oh well, such is the way things go sometimes.

I really have no interest in switching DAWs....I have tried them all at one time or another and nothing (IMHO) holds a candle to PreSonus Studio One.

Thanks Again for the reply!
