VV 3.0a - what's the expert advice ?

Well, much water has flown under the bridge since the launch of VV 3.0a . I was one of the first to d/l it but when I was ready to install it I read this Forum and became afraid that I would mess my on-going projects if I upgraded...
Well, now I am ready and willing. And I don't see much fuss anymore regarding v3.0a
But I still have my doubts...
What am I expected to benefit with the upgrade ?
What do I risk to jeopardize ?

My specs: Duron1000 512MB fast disks GeForce4, Sony PAL-DV, VegasVideo v3.0 output to PAL-VCD, PAL-DV.

Thanks for expert advice

3.0a is a bug fixes only update, perfectly safe to use.

If for some reason you need to go back to 3.0, it is available at:

ftp://porker.sonicfoundry.com/

I've finished my current project and am now ready to install the 3.0a Update, but...

Does Version 3.0a install itself on top of my existing Version 3.0?
Do I install it into a new directory?
Anything else I should know before I D/L?

Thanks

Have no fear - download it. It's just an update. You should have done it as soon as it came out.
