I see where Best Buy has Vegas Video 1.0 on sale this week for $129. Is this a good deal? Didn't this program see for $400 or more a couple of months back? Also, how much is the upgrade to 2.0?
somehow I thought that VV 2.0 was on sale at best buy for $129...if so that's a good deal...if it's 1.0 then I'm not so sure what a good deal that is...I guess it depends on the price of the upgrade...anybody else know what the deal is?
It's version 2. No manual. PDF manual on disk and downloadable. Update software on SF web site to version 2h for zero dollars.
Good deal? Hell yes. Vegas ROCKS
Check the yellow price label on the box at Best Buy. Right below 399.99 it should say "VEGASVID2.0", SKU 4081317. Check all the boxes for one with a printed manual. The box will be obviously heavier than the others. It may also look older and dustier. Go by the yellow label for the version number. I was lucky when I bought mine the other day in Lutherville, MD. There were two on the shelf with manuals. This is important in that it costs close to $50.00 to print the PDF file at Kinkos. Download and install the 2h upgrade. Then download and install the Video Factory 2 demo. You will then have a few new plugins and, most important, VidCap 2.5, which has DV scene detection. Good luck!
JLK, you da man! It is in fact version 2.0 and states so on the yellow price tag. And yes I did find a dusty box with a copy of the manual inside! Woohoo! It was the last one they had. The maunal is an inch thick! No wonder is costs $50 to print - 400+ pages. What a deal! Now, on to the upgrade. Thanks for all the quick replies everybody. Vegas does rock indeed.
Unless something has changed, my Best Buy VV did come with a manual.
(A nice one suprisingly). I bought mine a couple months ago for $149.
Should be able to tell by the weight or lack there of :)
