VV2 seeing only video portion of AVI file

I am having a problem with VV2 seeing only the video of an AVI file. The file plays in Windows Explorer just fine. The file was recorded from television with an ATI All-In-Wonder using a DIVX encoder. The encoder used is reported by Windows Explorer file properties tab as "DIVXMPG4 V3". The Audio format is listed as "MPEG Layer-3". Why doesn't VV2 see the audio portion of my AVI file?

I had this problem once with vv2. I had even captured it with sonic foundry's video capture! There was a small, almost undetectable gap in the sound at the very begining of the file, a few frames with no audio. It seems that vv only looks at the begining of the video file to detect an audio track, and if it's not there, it naively imports the video only.

I just recaptured the same segment, but you might try trimming the begining of your clip in another editor and then importing it into vv.

I dont have another editor. I have this one. It had the features that I need. I expect this program to work as advertised. For the $300 price tag, you'ld think there would be some kind of support, but NO! They want to charge additional for support on a F***** 900 telephone line. I like what it does when it works right, but I certainly wont recommend this software to anyone else because of these incompatibilities..... Now, if they fix these incompatibilities, then it will be the most awesome product of its kind. As it is now, its like buying a Jaguar with a bad engine.

We have never claimed to support DIVX of any flavor. If you can get it to work, great, but you are on your own.
