VV3 and MOTU PCI-324

My brother is using Vegas Video 3 with 3 Motu 2408s. I've installed win2000, directx 8, the DVupdate, and latest PCI-324 Drivers. The PCI-324 console see's all of the Motu 2408s and all 24 channels, routing is enabled, I can enable everyone of the 24 inputs, all the outputs are set to "from computer". VV3 sees the 1st and 2nd 2408s, but only channels 1 and 2 of the 3rd 2408. The number of stereo busses is set to 13. Any help would greatly be appreciated. All this worked in win98se, only we had too many crashes.

Go to the MOTU routing applet and enable MME compatibility. After that you should be able to see all of your inputs.

Thanks for the reply Ivan. The MME support is already enabled. I must be missing something, but I'm not sure what?? I guess I'll try another PCI slot, but like I said, it worked in win98se. I don't know if the problem is the new PCI-324 drivers, or VV3. I guess I'll also try VV2 with the new drivers to see if it can access all 24 channels.

Wasn't this a limitation of Windows2000? I thought for some reason Win2k only saw 10 stereo pairs... maybe Im wrong though. There isnt a limitation with Vegas though, I've got a RME Hammerfall showing all inputs available (26) under XP Pro and VV3 using MME drivers.

Windows 2000 has a limit of 10 Stereo audio devices when using WDM wave emulation. The MOTU drivers for Win2000 are WDM based, so you can't see any more than 10 stereo pairs of the MOTU.

This is a bug in Windows 2000. There is no work around other than upgrading to WinXP.

Thanks everyone!! I will go back to Win98se and try to fix the lockups, and if I can't do that, then I'll recommend he upgrade to winxp.

to add more marbles to the man gravy:
I got my friends motu to work this way (GREAT forum isnt it????)

BUT

everytime you restart vegas the inputs are in a different order than the last time...weird
first time I opened it went 1-2, 3-4, 9-10, 5-6, 7-8, 11-12, 17-18, 13-14...etc
next time I opened it was different again!
goo-o-o-o-offy!

Has anyone else had problems with Motu and pops/clicks under Window XP? As you know MOTU support is non-existant, any info on settings would be greatly appreciated.
