Just received mine today - Pioneer A03 with ADS Pyro firewire enclosure. Will return after some testing...

Vegas isn't a dvd authoring program. It is an excellent video/audio editor & the encoder prepares your files for a dvd authoring program, which could be costly. As you probably know, the A03 came with My DVD which is a very basic authoring program.

tboydva--where did you get yours? Letme know how it goes.

Jamz--I didn't think VV3 was a DVD authoring program but since
I am new to both VV3 AND DV I thought I would ask to make sure
I wasn't missing something. I need to finish RTM.

Thanks for your replies!

I've been testing a Pioneer DVR-103 and Sonic DVDitPE 2.5. I've also tried My DVD, SpruceUp and a number of others. I've got the latest firmware.

Even though this is supposed to be supported, I cannot burn to DVD-RW if the disc is used (meaning- it won't erase, no matter what app). DVD-R works fine. Anybody know the trick to make this work? It says it works on the stinkin' box. Using Panasonic DVD-RW media.

Are you just having a problem erasing the dvd-rw? I'm using Prassi to do a quick erase & it does a good job. It came with the A03. Nero's latest update also allows you to erase a dvd-rw. I'm using a Pioneer DVD-RW. They even play in a set top dvd player with no problems.

Make sure you erase the disc before you try to rewrite on it.

I am using what I believe is an almost identical setup to you - DVR-103 and DvdIt! 2.5. I have created a few DVD-RWs with this setup. I just build the DVD like normal, and if the DVD-RW disc has been previously written, DvdIt! asks me at the last moment if I want to erase the disk before proceeding. No problems.
