VV3 demo makes project unopenable in full VV2

I recently downloaded the VV3 trial to see if it would fix some issues i was having with VV2, and I like what i see and will likely purchase it soon. however i noticed something disturbing. Even after uninstalling the VV3 demo, my project will not open in VV2 (full version ive had a long time). is it permanently corrupted? (it still will open in VV3 no problem, but for right now, i need to open it in VV2...) My problem should go away as soon as i purchase VV3, but say for example i suddently had to pay a big bill or something, and had to wait a month- (i know, i know, a hypothetical *but valid* concern!) i dont want to be stuck with a file that only opens in a demo version where i cant save changes... any ideas?

You should always save two seperate versions of your project when demo'ing upgrades; one in the old format and one in the new. I know that's hindsight, and I'm not sure of any way to downgrade your VV3 saved project ... anyone else know?

I doubt you can. Not only are you talking about a different product, you're talking about a earlier version of a different product, so Video Factory probably don't have a clue how to read the format, assuming you're talking about opening the project file and not the rendered video. Just curious, does VF open VV3 created videos?

Hello,

When you save the 2.0 project in 3.0 it will no longer open 2.0 you have to use the save as feature to rename the file to preserve the original.
The good news is your media content is still on your hard drive, and can be reentered into Vegas 2.0, If you have Vegas setup to create backup files, you might be able to find one of them and rename it to a Vegas 2.0 project file, and maybe be able to open it, but other than that I don't think you can recover it, but save it untill you get 3.0 for sure.

See ya, Rockit
