VV3 insists on rendering

When I want to export DV from the timeline to a file or tape, VV video insists more often than not upon rendering with the message (More than 80% of the video must be re-rendered do you wish to continue?). Well as this is cuts only editing I don't want either the quality loss or wasted time of rendering. Is there some way to force "no rendering" or is there some way to find out what the incompatibility is so I can fix it? I have tried switching off and on "Create Open DML Compatible file" this sometimes does the trick but not always. In Premiere you can compare the source parameters and destination parameters to check for differences. Also in Premiere the same operation works without rendering. Can anyone help here? Whenever I see this message, the FIRST place I look is the Level slider on the track header. More often than not, I will find that one of the sliders is no longer on 100% requiring the entire project to be rendered.
