VV3 loses the date/time stamp when printing to tape!

Does anyone know how to make VV3 retain the original date/time stamp on a clip? Premiere has no problem doing this, so Im wondering why VV3 cant do it?

Ive been editing some old DV tapes of my Son, and would like to have the original date and time of taping, but when I print to tape, VV3 sets the date and time to the current date and time, not the original one.

That is correct with Vegas 3.0a, when rendering/printing to tape from the timeline it will use the current date/time. This change was was needed in order to be able to properly recapture a Vegas rendered/print. Without this change, when recapturing the footage you would end up with multiple clips because of the date/time stamp discontinuities.

How about making this an option to the user? I'd like to keep the original recording time!

Thanks,

I make a little pop-up title with the date when a sequence was shot, with a transparent background, showing it for several seconds at the beginning of the scene. If it was captured in Vegas Video, the time & date of the original source clip can be viewed in the Recorded On column of the Clip Explorer spreadsheet (click on the Capture Video icon at the top of the Media Pool panel).
