VV4 Video gain snaps to zero!

I upgraded to VV4 quite a while ago, but just recently installed it. I am having a problem with sliders always 'snapping' to a fixed location.
Specific examples:
1) The video gain slider in a video track header always snaps to the 0 level anytime the track is active. If I click on it and drag it off zero, as soon as I let go of the mouse button it snaps back to zero. The only way to get it to stay off of zero is to activate (highlight) any other track. I can then move the gain slider in the non-active track and it stays put, until I click anywhere in that video track at which time it immediately snaps back to zero. Of course when it is at zero the monitor window is black.
2) The pan slider in an audio track always snaps to the left (left pan 99%) under the same circumstances as described above for the video gain slider.
3) The sliders in the graghic equalizer snap to the top position (24db). If any slider is moved, that slider snaps to the 24db location when the mouse button is released. The reset button will move them all back to the middle (0db).
4) Probably others, but I cannot do anything productive with VV4 acting this way.

I have not found any program settings or forum discussions addressing this issue.

Any suggestins as to what to try?

Something is definately going wrong. You may want to consider reinstalling Vegas.

Uninstalled and then installed from the VV4 CD (build 119) and the same thing still happened. Then uninstalled and installed from a downloaded update (build 239) and the problem went away. Thanks for the suggestion.

Generally you will never want to use the install CD. By the time you get it, there has been a new release posted on the website with a bunch more bug fixes. Nail the CD up on your studio wall for decoration. ;)
