VV4 with VV5

This may have already been answered before but I can't it.
I've been using VV4 for about 6 months and I'm half way through a couple of projects which I want to finish on VV4. I have downloaded a trial version of VV5 but not yet installed it.

Question 1 - Does VV5 install over VV4 or can they both be installed on the same pc?

Question 2 - what limitations are there on the VV5 trial version?

The info I have seen says the limitations relate to creation of MPEG, MP3 and AC3 formats. Is that all? Can I still import from DV cam, edit with fully functioning FX and transitions and render as avi files with audio? Are there any file size limitations or anything else I should be aware of? Any help will be appreciated>

Vegas 5 installs in the \Sony directory and Vegas 4 is already in the \Sonic Foundry directory so they do not install over each other. I have V4 and V5 both on my system without any problems. I’m not sure of the limitations on the trial.

Vegas 5 will not conflict with Vegas 4. They install in two totally separate folders.

Vegas 5 trial is limited to 30 days, won't do AC-3 or MPEG, but, otherwise, does pretty well everything.

but dont forget if you open a V4 veg in V5 and then save the changes, you will not be able open it back up inV4.
It warns you of this, but we all have our "Zippy" moments, so make sure if you do save ,save as a different name esp. if you dont upgrade to V5. But my Recc. if you can afford it, upgrade. even if your still in the learning mode as I am it's easy to include the V5 stuff in to you learning- notably the new composting setup.
