Want to burn at 4x (no faster), which media to buy?

I use DVD1 and 2, burn with a pioneer 104, and have use Ritek disks. I'm very satisfied with Ritek- cheap media prices and disks have played on every player so far.
But, I'm going to upgrade to a Pioneer 108 (external) and want to burn disks from it at 4x speed. Faster is not recommended I'm told. I know dvda likes to burn at whatever speed it feels like, regardless of which speed you select. So I was wondering what experience people have with Ritek G04 or G05 media and DVDA. Any stories? Thanks!

I've been using the Ritek G04 media both with DVDA and my Bravo duplicator and have been pretty happy with the results.

Is that true? I know DVDA has problems burning on certain burners, but I never heard that it ignores the burn speed you choose. That would be a bug of the first order, if it is true.

I personally have not encountered this behavior. When I burn at 4x the burn time is consistant with a 4x burn - likewise when I burn at 2x.

Thanks for the input. It happens to me all the time. I used to use maxell dvds and even if I said burn at 1x it burned at 2x. I posted about this and it seemed I was not alone in this kind of behavior. Maybe it's been worked out in dvda2.
Think I'll stick with the G04 media for now, but it sure would be nice toburn at a faster speed than the 1x that seems to be the max on my pioneer 104 burner.
Thanks again for the help.
