Want to replace a masked out ares with a color or other media

I must be missing something, cause I thought it was simple. I have a video track that is a mask (created in photoshop) like 16:9 crops, but I want the masked area to be white in lieu of black. How is this accomplished?

If I understand what you are wanting to do, why not use the mask generator?
