I found no reason to update DVDA from 6.0 to a later version. Apparently you lose AC3 Pro if you do so.

Re NBFX, see https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/nubluefx-plugins-issues-with-vp15--108600/#ca669491 ... and some others over the past month or so.

Re HitFilm, if you need compositing, HitFilm might be what you need - check it out. But be aware that it may be licenced only to VP15 and not later VP releases. If you really need compositing for years to come, think about buying HitFilm or a Boris OFX product outright.

Thanks, Dexcon,

Yep, it looks like I'll be going for Vegas Pro Edit then.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

I should add a rider ... keeping up to date with the latest versions of plugins like HitFilm Ignite OFX (which comes with HitFilm 2017 stand-alone) will likely work with future versions of Vegas Pro and many of the other NLEs on the market, there is of course no guarantee of that. Ditto with Boris OFX plugins, but so far, they've all updated nicely.

I already had the NewBlue Titler pro 5 so the extra kick upgrading to the Suite wasn't worth my money. I upgraded to Vegas Pro with Boris Continuum 3D and the NewBlue Fx Essentials 5. All three programs for $249 was a pretty good deal.
