I just experienced this problem today and hopefully none of you go through it either.

DO NOT CREATE DUPLICATE FOLDERS IN MEDIA POOL!!! YOU VEG FILE WILL BE CORRUPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That being said, I've yet to find a fix for this problem. A whole weeks worth of editing down the toilet because of this and the wedding for the video is this saturday. Needless to say, I'm a little stressed out!

The only fix I know is to send it to Sony and request they repair it for you.

Work Around :
Open your VEG file with a hex editor and search for the duplicated name folder.
Change juste a letter in this name and save.
Normally you can now open the VEG file (work for me).

That's what I had to do too, after BJ_M had suggested UltraEdit a few months back. Never thought of sending it to Sony....good call.

someone (i forget who) ended up doing this a month or two ago (sending the veggie to sony). That's how we found out it was a dublicate folder.

Cool (yet scarry) bug. :)

bug that sony has known about for quite a while, how about a fix sony, this thing repeats everytime, get a bunch of bins going and a user can easily have this happen.

That's the best reason to eat up their support budget on problems like this. Although many problems posted here are user errors, inexpererience, or crazy expectations, this one is one they should fix.

Make the support call. Give them a full dose of your anxiety.

If you look at the big picture, that's not bad considering the power of what vegas does. I mean, if you stop a second and think about the power within the program, it could have been much worse.

I'm still happy with V5. :-D
