WARNING: Do Not Install Current NEO HDV

I just went from:

Neo HDV 3.3.1.169

To

Neo HDV 3.4.1.179

And IT COMPLETELY BROKE ALL MY PROJECTS. The black levels are completely screwed up now. I've been working on the same NEO projects in Sony Vegas for months carefully keeping within the Studio RGB (16-235) workflow. Now all of the my NEO files show up as computer RGB (0-255).

I just ran a test on another computer that did not have NEO installed yet. I first installed the earlier version Neo HDV 3.3.1.169 and black levels were fine. Then I installed the current version Neo HDV 3.4.1.179 and black levels were are screwed up. The problem is that no matter what I do trying to unistall NEO, clean the registry etc. I cannot get back to the earlier version of NEO. It install fine but levels are still screwed up and when I go to render as in Vegas it shows the latest codec (v3.9.6) as opposed to (v3.8.2). At this point I am comtemplating an entire re-install with time I do not have. This is really lame and should have been caught prior to release.

Simple way to fix this, use the Levels or other suitable FX on the video buss to convert levels back to Studio RGB.

...or other suitable FX ...

Secondary Color Corrector with the Computer RGB to Studio RGB preset.

Not in this case as I have hundreds of stock photographs throughout the timeline not affected by the problem. The problem is solved by reverting back to the old cineform codec (I've confirmed this on two other machines) however for some reason on my registered machine Cineform with not revert back to the old codec regardless of which one is installed.

Moral of the story... never install any update you dont absolutely need unless you have time to be a beta tester.

The Cineform site lists Neo HDV 3.4.1 (179) as the latest version, the version you said you were having problems with. Do you have a newer version that has not yet been posted?

Thanks
Mark
