Water effect in text when viewed back. How to eliminate this?

DR wrote on 2/19/2002, 1:45 PM
I notice there is like a water effect behind any text I put on footage in vegas vid I notice it the most in scrolling text.
It shows up pretty good at that.
As the words scroll infront of the footage, you can see like a water unfocused blur of the video behind the words. Very unpleasing effect.
Is there a cure or am I in need of a new eye glass prescription?
Everything I have burned has this prob.on text.Shows up well on tv screens.
Ideas?
Or a good optometrist?hahaha.
Thanx again.

fwiw, I've used the VV3 titler quite a bit (DV) - including several rolls - and haven't seen it.

first of all there are many many many posts on this subject
blury text, stuttering text etc.
i had every problem imaginable and some that i couldn't conceive of
2 things i recommend
1) click the resample button and see if that clears it up--it kind of did for me
2) simply format your computer - this cleared out all the bugs on my computer

by chance do you have XP?
good luck, sb

I'm not in front of VV3 right now, so my terms may not be correct...

But I had a problem where some video I rendered looked like it had some weird motion blur (like run through water). Under the File menu, open Properties and look for a setting that has 'Blend' as an option. When I turned it back to 'Blend' from 'None', my problem was solved. I believe 'Blend' was the default and I was trying some things out a while back and forgot to set it back from 'None'.

I am running 2000 and I have a fresh install.
Should have nothing to do with operating system at all.
This is within Vegas.
I will try the blend option and see if this is a cause.
It really is quite noticeable though.
Thanx guys.

i am telling you guys, i had fresh install after fresh install
my problem had to do with other programs i was running corrupting vv3
roxio ez cd creator and m-audio sound card were the culprits
roxio does not go with XP
in fact, roxio even admits that "take two" may corrupt XP and other programs
however, they do not post this on their web site
both m-audio and roxio platinum patches sux the big one
i formated my computer, took out m-audio and threw away roxio
now vv3 works great
this after 3 months of torture
good luck
