wav convert to w64 when 'save as'?

When I saved a 4 minute song in VV3 to a new folder and specified 'copy all media' to make a new mix, all the wav files were converted to w64 files. Can't open them in SF 5.0. What's up with that? I don't remember this ever happening before and I can't find anything on this board, in manual or in preferences or options that addresses this. Que pasa?
Recorded at 24/44, only about 10 tracks with lots of smaller events.

Forge does not support the .wav64 format.

I understand (now) the SF does not support the w64. I'm just trying to find out why Vegas is converting them from wavs when I 'save as' to a new folder (for 'bookkeeping' purposes). How can I keep all the files from being written as w64. Some are very small (8 second) clips yet all of them are written as w64. Are there ways to circumvent every file from being written this way?

We will address this in the January bug-fix update. The plan is to also have Forge 5 support w64.
