Waves VST UM225/26 plug in doesn't show up in Vegas 22

Waves UM225/26 plug doesn't show up in Vegas 22. Shows up in Sound Forge and Audio studio but crashes those programs when selected and it works in Cleaning Lab 4. Anyone have ideas? Is it a bug in everything BUT Cleaning Lab 4? Or is it a bug in Cleaning Lab that allows it to work? {FYI: https://www.waves.com/plugins/um225-um226}

On UM225/26's product webpage, go to the Tech Specs link and then Supported Hosts:

https://www.waves.com/plugins/um225-um226#tab-tech-specs|tab-supported-hosts

None of the hosts that you've mentioned in your post are listed as being officially supported by Waves for UM225/26. As the page recommends:

If your DAW (or DAW version) is not listed here, we recommend you demo the product you wish to purchase to confirm it works.

... which means to me that Waves are saying that it may work in other hosts but that they don't guarantee compatibility outside of their nominated officially supported hosts.

Vegas, SF Pro, most SF Audio Studio, ACID and Music Maker seem to use the SF VST interface, whereas SF Audio Studio 12.6 and SF Audio Cleaning Lab 4 appear to use the Samplitude VST interface.

The Waves UM225/26 plugins show up and appear to work in Music Maker 2024 and ACID 11 for me. I have updated the four / six audio_plugin_*_server* files for ACID 11, by copying the the Music Maker versions, as was suggested in another post, so this maybe a solution for Vegas too.

Each of the programs seems to have slightly different versions of the VST interface (audio plugin) files. No idea what the specific capabilities of each are. Re-name, or create a sub-folder(?) for the existing files before copying files from elsewhere, so that that you can restore the originals if required.

It is on my to-do list to try with Vegas - probably with Vegas 23 now - although they may work with the new version anyway (in which case copy those files to the Vegas 22 installation).

You can download the demo of Music Maker if required to get the latest(?) audio_plugin_*_server* files.
