wavy images after rendering

I am still fairly new to vegas but have had very few problems. I have renderd a number of projects and not had any glitches until now. I just rendered a 20 minute project and in the scenes where there are close moving subjects the image is wavy, almost looks like a special effect. I probably just turned something on that I'm not smart enough to turn off.

Set the rendering quality to "Best"
See if that takes care of it.

I tried that and there was no difference.

Search for the term "interlace" or "interlacing" on the forum and see if that describes what you are seeing.

The deinterlace method has always been set on none. I switched it to blend fields and then rerendered. That got rid of my blurry closeup moving images.
I had quite a few long transitions in this project. I also noticed that render time was increased.

Thanks for the help

Why did I never need to do this before?
Should it always be set on blend fields?
Why has the render time greatly increased?

The simple explanation:
Most TV sets are interlaced.
Computer monitors are not.

Most renders are made to be viewed on interlaced sets.
In this case, the video should be interlaced (defaults).

If you are making a video to be viewed exclusively on a computer monitor, you may want to render it to progressive or deinterlace depending on the source video.

Please don't make the mistake of judging what your rendered video will look like on your TV by looking at a preview on your computer monitor. They are apples and oranges.

Hope this helps, there is a wealth of information available by searching these forums and the internet.
