I'll be going to Christmas Island (Kiritimati) in about a month. Has anyone on the Forum been there? Anything I should be aware of during the week I'll be in residence? I've heard that in addition to the excellent bone fishing there are three bird sanctuaries on the island.

I plan on taking both a still and video camera and a handful of memory cards to document the trip in order to put together a promotional piece for the sponsoring company.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
