Way OT: DirectX, no net

I can't find any way to ask this of Microsoft so I'm hopeful that someone here can help.
I need to download and install DirectX on a computer that isn't connected to the Internet.

I can download the file from the MS web site, but when I burn it to a CD to take to my (non-net editing computer) I'm told that there are items attached to the downloaded file that won't copy to the CD.

When I try to install from the CD I've burned I get an error message that the "appropriate browser directory" can't be found. The only option is to delete the error msg, which terminates the install.

Any idea how I can get around this? I can't run the DVD authoring software I've just installed without DirectX.
