Dear community,

In light of the upcoming release of VEGAS Movie Studio 16, we would love to know what creative projects everyone is working on these days.

We're interested in exchanging feedback and inspiring each other for their "next big thing".

So, what are you planning on editing next with VEGAS Movie Studio? Do you have specific kinds of video, which you are editing on a regular basis or is there something special coming up?

Lets us know what you are up to!

Last weekend, I filmed my 5 year old grandson doing his swimming certificate, with my smartphone in 1080p30 with variable framerate. Unfortunately I had to edit this footage with Powerdirector, because VMS has a problem with variable framerates. The workflow with Powerdirector is a pain in the a.. when you're used to edit with VMS. I would like the possibility to edit native variable framerates in VMS.

Another feature I would appreciate is the possibility to easily make video collages in VMS, like in Powerdirector and an improvement in copying/pasting timelines from one project into another project.

I like to edit video synchronously with music (on the beat).
I developed my own tool and workflow for that:

https://www.focusonvegas.com/music-video-sync-v2/

I still use it, but in my opinion 'the next big thing' for Vegas MovieStudio (and Vegas Pro) is that the whole process can be done comfortably (with sophisticated onset detections) in MovieStudio itself (so no need for an external program, external university beat-detector and third parties plugins).

Using my tool saves me a lot of time: after I have cut the inpoints of my clips to my needs the process to edit all the clips at once on the beats of music is a matter of minutes instead of hours. I have always wondered why Vegas lacks such a tool.

The next video for my band! I love both music and photography and Movie Studio has been a staple in allowing us to make videos on a reasonable budget - which is what an indie band has. We mostly use the videos for promotion on facebook but we upload them also on YouTube. If you are interested you can see them at our YT channel - all made by using Movie Studio: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=FLmMiIhwc7-Pw_P7AUNqm0RA

Filming footage on location for the next video next week :)

At the moment, I am a complete beginner with both Vegas and my new camera, been a photographer over 30 years but the spark wasn't there anymore, so now trying some video editing and can say this week just playing around with the software and cam have got my enthusiasm back, I am visiting an airbase in two months so want to get lots of footage to use, if anyone has any suggestions for my week long trip, I would be happy to hear from you.

I wont be doing any editing on the fly, I want to get home and edit at my own pace so I don't rush things, but adding titles, audio and transitions, any help in this direction is most welcome, but bear in mind I am a complete newbie to video and Vegas.

Indeed I'm looking forwards to see what's on VMS16 as I'm considering changing my current NLE. In my editing style I use jpg/bmp masks on layers and as transitions. I wonder will it be better on that aspect in VMS16. Also what about copy and paste things from one event to others. Is it still all or nothing? I will surly try VMS16 but will I move... depend on the simple and practical tools.

** Will it still work well on win7 with no hiccups ?
