web video question

How can I make my web videos look the best? My knowledge is very limited so please keep it simple. Right now I have trouble keeping my videos under the 20mb limit on acid planet. When making the video I have the choice of 3mb or 512. If I use the 512 the video looks grainy but I go up to the 3mb its to big. I’m using the wmv format. When I look at some other peoples videos online they seem to be small in size but good quality.

Thanks

I would image that the better videos you're referring to are encoded with an application that is just that--a video encoder program. If you're video production is a hobby, you may be forced to stick with doing your encoding in Vegas. If it's your profession, then you need to consider investing in a product like Sorenson Squeeze. That's what we use.

Something to consider is the amount of motion in your video.

I'm very sensitive to getting good quality video at a smaller file size for my podcast at:

We use 200mbps for video, which is fairly small, so we use a stationary black background which is easy to compress, which makes for a higher quality at a lower file size.

Best,
