Hello,

I am a wedding filmmaker. I have been shoting wedding videos in Poland for brides and grooms for many many years. Based on my experience I noticed that every popular wedding attraction which is common and well-received by brides and grooms and their wedding guests abroad (I think mostly in the USA) , later is also popular wedding attraction in Poland. Now 360 degrees videofilming of guests standing on the rotating platform is the main wedding attraction in Poland. I also see that in last wedding season photobooth was also popular on many Polish weddings. Photobooth has been popular for many years in Poland by the way.

Can you share with me what is the wedding attractions hit now in the USA? Can you also share me some youtube links which describe the most popular wedding attraction on some video in the USA?

I know that Polish weddings and American weddings are completly different, because in Poland wedding starts at i.e. 3 pm and ends at 3 am / 4 am. I know that American weddings are a little bit shorter :)

Thank you for your sharings

Marcin from Poland

I am 42. I have been creating videos since 2009 (the date when my first daughter was born in). My first video software was Pinnacle, next one was Sony Vegas 8 (I am not sure if remember it correctly). I am also a developer and wedding movie operator and editor. For example: I have created an Android app which let me control Vegas Pro rendering progress level on Android smartphone. I created it for fun, because I also love programming. I also created my own plugin for Audio To Text feature specified usage from Vegas Pro 19. I created proxy creation plugin which uses multiple GPU threads (maximum 3) to create proxy files for Vegas Pro. I also written many others plugin/softwares which enhance my video editing, also wedding editing.

Hahaha... yeah... it took this American a while to get used to Polish weddings, which last more than one day! In the States, everything is done in one day, with the reception usually only 4 hours, or pay a lot more.

Yes, photo booths here, along with an instant camera are common here in Poland. But one thing I used to do in the States when I did weddings (UGH!!!) years ago, was do a video where I would find the best man or maid of honor and talk with them. I did that here too for a Polish wedding I did. The couple, when they viewed that part of the video, were laughing and crying when they saw it, and they said for them, it was the best part of the video.

Since I speak zero Polish and the wife is Polish, she would talk with usually the best man early on before the birthday songs and other toasts really get going. We would shoot this like a big news social event of the year. The reporter (best man), who would have a wireless mic which was plugged into my camera, would build it up at the beginning outside of the event hall, like "here we are at the social event for the year, the wedding of... everyone who is anyone is here, this is electric, exciting, amazing...blah blah blah". Of course, they would have to be excited and build it up while speaking. Then enter the hall, then we would go around and video guests, like news reporters, asking the guests to say something special about this event, and something special from them to the bride and groom. Hit a table with really happy people, pass the mic around and record. Yeah, there were those who were a little wobbly, but even then, the couple would laugh as they listened to what people had to say.

Get to the parents, who I would edit and put at the end. On the DVD, this was a separate chapter, like an "extra".
