Weird Effects...?

KarateMaster558 wrote on 8/6/2017, 10:25 AM

Hey guys! So I am a small YouTuber who bought Vegas Pro 14 just recently, and everything is fine up until I actually put my video into the software. Weird effects show up in the video and I don't know how to fix it. If you want to know what I am talking about, watch this video that I just recently posted and you'll see what I am talking about.

A response would help! Thanks!

Looks like an issue with the codec you captured with. Someone else here had the same issue and it boiled down to the codec they captured with. Try a different codec with a higher bitrate.

I use OBS. How do I do what you said? And what bitrate do I have to use? ATM I have 3000 as my bitrate.

There's some threads about using OBS on this forum. Looks like your bitrate could be to low. Try at least 6000 and see how that works.

So is codec like .MP4, and like .MOV?

those are containers, but .mp4 would be a good container. .mov requires a 3rd party driver (apple) for Vegas to use it. I'm not really sure what format most digital cameras use, but that would be a good choice. If you could do uncompressed that would be best (maybe image sequence?) Less compression = better.

Got it. So I use .MP4 as my container. Now the stuff I don't understand. What do I have to do to get rid of those weird effects in Sony Vegas. I used 6000 as my bitrate. Now what? Do I have to use a different recording software?

Maybe. Does it still look bad in Vegas?
