Weird issue b/t Vegas 5 and Boris Red

Lately when I try to add a boris filter from the Vegas timeline (ie using Boris as a filter in Vegas) I've run into a couple issues. The first problem is I don't get the 1 frame preview I supposed to get. Instead I get an all white screen. The second thing I've noticed is if I try to apply the Boris noise reduction video filter, I get a yellow and orange background with the number '1' in the middle of it and an 'X' through the whole thing like I'm using the demo of Boris.

I've been using Boris mostly as a standalone engine rather than as a filter in Vegas, but I know I didn't have this issue before. Of course, I've never tried the Boris Denoiser before. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Boris, but it didn't solve the problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks ahead of time for any help!

Hi musman,

the denoise filter will not sork as a plugin with Vegas. Vegas does not pass frames and timeline information to Boris so any filter that requires it will display the 1 with the X

Not sure about the all white screen I will try and reproduce it.

Okay, that makes sense. I'll try to figure out what's happening with the white frame as well. Seems to me Boris is just not there yet with integration with Vegas b/c a lot of these issues pop up.
But if you, or anyone, figures out what's happening with the white frame I'd sure be curious and appreciative!

I've been taking my Vegas AVIs straight into Boris for effects. So, if this works for your work flow, lay Boris onto your clip and adjust the time. Then add a new 3D plane. Change that to a Movie and import your clip. If you need to edit it, you can change it's placement under Face. Now you can add all the effects you can possibly desire and it will effect your media directly and you get realtime feedback. It's not the greatest work flow, but until Vegas can have Boris on the timeline with real input, this mostly works.
Hope this helps.
